Sad news my pt has failed on a handbrake cable not working, and looking at the repair details, seems beyond me and my new Haynes manual is as good as a chocolate fire guard a waste of money!!!!

Handbrake cable in Canada is all of $35 ? doesn't sound like a big deal..... chocolate's always nice though.

The Turbo is strong, fast and reliable.. People that don't understand the love of a PT, probably don't deserve to.

Its really not that difficult.

Crawl under the car, trace the hand brake from the rear rotors/drums forward towards the motor.

Most cars use a plug and crimp system about 1/2 way up the body, odds are that is where your line is not connecting

Get new cable.

Remove old cable, re-string it to the split

Re crimp.

If its detached at the handbrake, just trace it all the way up.

I had to do this on my 99 neon and it took all of an hour to do.

It SEEMS much more difficult than it really is.

Rick, are you sure you live in UK? All these would make sense if you were where I am.
