Default High revs at idle, and mileage question

I have just bought a 2005 2.2 tourer CRD (English)

To cut a long story short, live in France, bought in England, dealer lied, we paid, dealer ripped me off, and I have a car that I love, but has 218,000 miles on it
The dealer does not answer my calls, and ignores my emails, so I cannot find out when the cambelt was last changed or any other information that I need.

First question is this, how much longer could I expect the engine to last, with this amount of miles on it? Doesn't sound bad, runs well, apart from.....

Next problem!! When at idle, the revs climb, (sitting at traffic etc) On starting no problem, but after driving for about 10 mins, and then having to stop at lights, or traffic, take out of gear, and then the revs start climbing.

Any advice gratefully received.

Maybe you would be better served on the European section. Maybe CREWZIN will move this for you.

Did a quick search for you:
"The 2.2L CRD PT Cruiser engine has a camshaft chain rather than a belt and does not require changing routinely like the petrol models."

We don't get the diesel model, so not much help from here - I would think any good diesel mechanic could tackle your idle problem.
Your engine was actually made by Mercedes, not Chrysler.
