Default 2.2 crd

Hi,

Have a Chrysler I purchased. The trouble is it is not charging, the research I've
did led me to the alternator. So i replaced that, but its still not charging. So more research found out that the regulator is built in with engine ECU.
I've traced the wires and have a single blue wire to alternator along with a big thick black one. So all seems right there. Does anyone know where the auto shut off relay is placed for the charging system as I can't put my hand on it.
Also has anyone had any similar problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

Please tell us what model year vehicle. If 2005 or older, here are two PT Cruiser charging system schematics for the diesel.

Hi,
Well I'm still have trouble getting this car to charge. Don't forget I'm in England. So I think maybe these colour codes are wrong as they do not show up in my wiring. The other thing was when I purchased the alternator the guy
told some have 3 wires and some have two. I am truly stumped from your diagram I seem to have a wire missing, but I cant find it any where. Could you please advice. The wires I have are Black from starter motor continual live, and light blue. there is juice coming down the black wire 12.59V. When I take the blue wire off and switch on ignition I have 8 volts coming from it immediately on start up attached or disconnected it drops to 0.09Volts.
I don't have the specs on the car so I don't know what voltage should be coming down this blue wire, if any. Any advice would be truly appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin
