Default Rear door locking mechanism

I tried to unlock the car with the remote control, all 4 doors unlock, but the rear doesn't. It can't be even opened with the push button under the handle, only with the key.
So I removed the plastic cover and checked the wiring. Didn't find anything unplugged.
The button underneath the handle closes the circuit, I checked it with a multimeter.
Also if the car is locked and use the key in the rear door, all doors unlock, which means that the wiring is ok, and I suppose that the problem persists on the electromagnetic locking mechanism.

I can't find it in Greece. Only if I make an order to the representative, meaning that it will probably costs more than my salary!

Is there any store I can purchase such a thing? Even a used in working condition can do the job.

I'm having the same problem. You didn't say what year your PT is. Have you tested the solenoid?

As I had A/C work on mine earlier this year, the dash was move out of the way putting a bit of strain on the loom and plug leading to the Remote Keyless Entry Module so I'm removing the trim plate tomorrow, getting under the dash and checking the plug to the Remote Keyless Entry Module before investing big bucks to get it fixed.

There are some forum thread written on how to do this.

If this venture proves dysfunction of the lift gate lead out of the module I think I'll just accept it and use the key for entry to the rear hatch.

I hope this gives you an avenue to investigate.

I've attached a copy of the electrical system schematic in this area for a 2005 and a photo of the module insitu. Hope this helps. ptprice
