We have a 2006 2.2 CRD and, I suspect as all other CRD's do, relevant sections of our Owners Handbook don't cover the model. Most important of these is information on fuses. This is further compounded by the only Haynes Service Manual there is for the car being for Petrol/Gas alone and, when you check, there are component changes for wiring as well as - worse - changes in the colours of wires!
WE have to fix a non-working horn button, usual problem either the little contacts beneath the steering wheel boss are failed or, more likely, it's the central "clock spring". Problem is replacement could mean that it's shared component, part of the air bag, will make this costly. So, we thought, easy. Install a nice new "push to make" button in the trim to left of steering column and pick up the wire going to original horn which is the negative/ground wire for the horn relay. However no amount of existing wiring diagrams and/or CD-ROM's seem to explain the change in wiring colours . . . not to mention the missing "interior fuse box" and the different main fuse box up front. This is NOT a cosmetic exercise . . . it needs a working horn to pass the MOT! Can anybody help with where/how to find the DIESEL WIRING DIAGRAM? Even the local Jeep dealer doesn't have any answers! |

That is an option but as we would need to install a new relay as we wouldn't be able to identify which - even where - the OE relay is we would still need to pick up a ignition switch/accessory side positive to match the original spec. OK, easier to pick up a battery feed BUT . . . have you ever had miosture set off a relay in the middle of the night? One did once, on my motorcycle, fitted with TRIPLE air horns!
