Here mate:

2.2 crd radiator remove

A PS on that post - you *might* find you can get the fan/shroud assembly out without taking off the turbo hoses and the bottom radiator hose. Might... or you might find that the hoses being on the radiator and intercooler don't allow you to pull the radiator forward enough to get the fan out.

Would suggest you suck it and see, because the intercooler hoses are a pain in the arris to get on and off ...

Thanks for the link, I have been to the site and downloaded my build sheet. I could not see any reference to the cooling system etc, but am able to confirm that it is a 2005 build for export to Europe and the diesel crd touring.

Here is the info from my local dealership:

The cooling fan for your PT is: MOPAR 05073580AA

This is from the '05 Parts Catalog:

According to this info, that fan module is only used in the 2.2L Turbo Diesel

My local dealership can't order it as it has been discontinued.

But using the MOPAR part number and searching the internet, there are some sources that show it still available. You would have to contact them to verify current availability:

https://www.mymoparparts.com/oem-par...ling-5073580aa

https://parts.rontonkindodge.net/oem...ling-5073580aa

https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...5073580aa.html

https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...ling-5073580aa

I can't find any listings on Ebay or EbayUK for the fan you need.

When trying to search for the part, sometimes it can be helpful to eliminate the leading "0"

If you do find one in the US, some sources will ship international. Good luck in your search, but I've given you about as much info as I can.

Sinbad: Thank you for the link, I will take a look at it.

rckstein; Many thanks, you have gone to a good deal of effort and it is much appreciated.
Best I get looking again.

I will get back to you both just to let you know how I fare.
Thank you so much for your trying to help, I am sure I will now be able to affect a remedy(he says hopefully ha ha)

Cheers

If it is - then it's only the shroud that is unique to the CRD fellas - the fan itself, it's motor and it's electrical connection is exactly the same as on the European 2.0ltre petrol models - which from what I've seen from glancing under bonnets of 2.4's over here is the same as everything else - and where the motors alone are on sale, they're for any model.

The availability of the whole assembly is zilch now - which is weird because they were on sale for about 75Euros on Fleabay a year ago - when I didn't need one.

However, for absolutely certain, you can lift the fan and motor out of a Mk.1 Euro spec 2.0ltr petrol and stick it straight in a CRD - because it's exactly what I did after swapping out the best two sets of brushes.

But it does highlight that we're probably reaching the stage where it's well worth hoarding certain parts as and when you find them now if you're serious about keeping the car.

Hi chaps,
Sinbad, I think you are correct from what I have found; the motor is identical.
I have found a replacement motor, it is new and avaiable from Amazon.
It is part no:
TYC 630330
I will probably go this route as even second hand shrouds with motors seem to be pricey. This will set me back about 40, with free postage I think. I did enquire about its suitability and it will fit the crd.
Thank you both for your help, I will report back when I have sorted this out.

Cheers

40 quid is a steal mate - some bods over here are asking 150 plus Euros for the motor alone

I'll have a little search myself, cos even with postage to Germany it's worth me having a new one on the shelf at that money.

Have fun
