split tailgate

I am looking for any info on spliting rear tailgate to make the top window half go up and the bottom to go down. Looking for someone who has or knows of a site for info. Thanks rfz[?]

I've never seen a site with info, but I have seen it done. It was silver custom cruiser with driver doors that open up and it had a split tailgate like you mentioned. I'm sure any good body customizing shop can do it...all you need is money.

I've seen it done on several Cruisers. PTeazer modified at least one of them in their custom shop. I'm sure that others could figure it our.[8)]

I have found a shop that did just what I wanted the rear deck has been split right below the body line the top can be opened with the bottom closed or vise versa the bottom opens all the way flat. The shop R.A.W. from Sanford Fla. did and excellent job and cost was not that expensive. The car will make its debute at the Back to the Beack 6 in Oct.

I'll be looking forward to seeing your cruiser at Myrtle Beach. Sanford's just about 2 hours due East of me. You wouldn't happen to have the finished price that you'd care to share?

Since your the one that having the top chopped to resemble an old Nomad and I know that is expensive, i'm curious to see what you mean about the tailgate being "not too expensive" ...or was some of the labor and painting involved in the tailgate just thrown in with the whole Nomad customization? [:I]
