I know it's pretty far out there, but does anyone know if there has been a 'Chopped top' done to a Cruiser?

You've been reading my mind! I personally don't remember seeing one but I do recall a sort of "prototype", blue painted, woody wagon looking, styling exercise that seemed to be chopped. The roof was a lot different then the stock one, though.
Anybody (#1) have the photo or a link to the one I mean? The Cruiser should be able to be chopped buy a good body man the same as any other hard-top. I'd love to see one done. Anybody (#2) want to Photoshop one for Show & Tell? |

2Step,
You don't mean the "California Cruiser" that Chrysler made as a concept do you? [:I] ![]() Notice the headlights and round fog lights? They came out with this concept a couple years ago and now those same headlights and round fogs are on the 06 cruisers.

Carey,
At least a couple of years ago DC had the sense to KEEP the lower grille looking like a grille!

The concept car looks a lot like the new Chevy HHR. The same guy designed the SSR and HHR as designed the Pt Cruiser first.

Crewzin....Yep, that's the one. I remembered it looking more chopped, though.
Satellite....Not bad at all. Taking it to 2-doors makes it even easier to chop (if you can get glass with the right curves). That sort of has the Magnum attitude with a classic rod flavor.[8)] |

There are two that I know of but both are on th ewest coast. One is a panel truck painted grren. and the other was done by the guy that built the bat moble. No one (regular people) that I know of. It's just to darn hard and exppensive.

Here's a thread on one. It's sort of odd looking. I like the Photoshop, blue one better.[:I]

To me the OEM ragtop looks chopped. I don't know if it is an optical illusion or if it really is lower. It could be the missing center post. I really like the vert with the top up. I can't satnd it with the top down (just my personal preference). The basket handle just doesn't do it for me. I do think a sedan with the same specs and smaller rear glass (like the ragtop) would look great.
I imagine it is just an optical illusion and that the sedan and convertible share windshields. The best view is from the back. That smaller rear glass is sweet. Someone should make a removable hardtop for the convertible.
