Default trunk tire kit

Hello, does anyone know who or what outfit is doing the simulated tire modification to the facing of the rear deck lid?
Lately, I've seen more and more PT's with this great looking modification but have yet to find out who is doing it....
Whoever is doing it has hit on something big as it adds tons of detail to what I think is the weakest area of the PT's appearance, its butt.

Joe,

You mean the continental kit. A couple different kinds are out there in the aftermarket. Here's one...

I guess the proper name would be a continental tire kit, but not that one...The design I've been seeing is far less ostentatious, has a square trungle type extension nearly as wide as the lid and extends up to beltline with a smaller round tire protrusion in the center..
Take my word for it.
Its so nice I first thought it was a new factory option..

I'd get answers before I'd even consider that one - how do you get at hatch handle? Does hatch open with the "spare" in place?

Wonder why you couldn't put a real spare in there...?

Joe,

Can't seem to find the one you have described. Maybe it's a particular aftermarket dealer in your area that's making them so you see them arouond there. My best guess woould be California Cruisers but they have nothing like what you are seeing. Here's their link....
