is there a shop on the West Coast that is splitting the hood of the PT cruiser and making the clam style hood that opens from both sides?
The one that "Michele of Delaware" of "My Cruiser" is fantastic[:I] |

Her hood was done by a guy named Pineapple and it is my understanding that he won't do anymore.

Thanks Grouch for that info. Sorry to hear that no one is doing the split hood on the West Coast or, for that matter, any more on the East Coast.

I think Pineapple must have had allot of problems doing that hood and doesn't want to do another one because he is the one who does the forward opening hood. What is really cool about that clam shell is you can open it the normal way also

Actually Pineapple made a post on another forum that he is going to install more of the clam style hoods if anyone wants them. He said the cost would be about $1000.
The forward flipping hood hinge kit he offers costs $250. He charges another $100 for the installation if he does it. Pineapple is one heck of a talented & nice guy. I had my lake pipes installed by him & he did an excellant job. John |

sorry about my double post earlier. I'm new to posting on this forum.
And thanks everyone for posting Pineapple's email address for those that were asking. He really is like an artist working on the PT's. At his shop he took about an hour and a half installing my lake pipes only because he took time to show me around all the PT's he had there that he was working on. He really knows & understands PT's. In fact his family owns 3 PT Cruisers. |
