Default Front Windows Tinted

Hey All,

This past Saturday, I got my front windows tinted to match the rest of them. Looks Great!!!

I just wanted to let any other PT'er who is in the Philly area know that Car Pretty (Grant & Bustleton Aves.) does an AWESOME job! For $70, it only took about 10 minutes to do.

If you're looking for good tinting to match what you have, or redo everything, definitely give them a call! 215-688-2000.

yobiebs, I also live in PA. Is the tinting you got done on your front windows legal in PA?

In PA, the state law is that your tint has to allow 70% of the light to enter the car. Or, in lay terms, someone from the outside should be able to see into the car.

I don't know what the % tint is from the factory on the other windows that I matched to. I'm taking my car in for 6000 mile service tomorrow and will speak with the DC people there. I'll post tomorrow and let you know. Unless someone else knows this....???

In Texas it's 65% for the front-door windows. The tint on the PT's rear windows is 50%.

I Don't know if you read my post on front tinting. I had mine done as well. When your window is all the down, their is a botton on the inside panel (part of the regulator)of the door. It rubs on the glass just enough to scratch the tint. I noticed mine last week, I thought it was dirt, then I saw the exact same mark on the passenger side, same location, same scratch. I took the panal off and sure enough, their it was. I thought about putting a piece of felt there, but the damage is done, and I wouldn't think it would stay anyway with the window going up and down. Just a word of caution.

turbomangt,

I haven't put my windows down since I got the tint done on the front, as they told me to wait at least 3 days. So I'll probably just hold off another day or two and take the panel off Friday to check. This way, if I have to, I can put some felt on there before I ever put the windows down.

I appreciate the info!

I had the front door windows tinted first. If I remember is was 65%.
It cooled the interior down so much I decided to tint the front window, it is 35%, I think...

It also looks cooler form the outside.

I just got my Electric Blue GT two weeks ago. Here in NH we too have a no tint law (unless) you get your eye doctor (MD only) to write a letter to the state MV.In turn and with any luck, the state will give you a medical waiver for tinted windows BUT for not less than 35% tint. I`ve had tinted windows on my cars for more than 15 years but in the last 5 years or so the state has come down hard on tinted windows and now ya need the MDs okay. The wife and I go out to AZ every few years and the cars out there just about blackout the windows. Some laws just s___ !!Oh ya, I get my windows tinted next week.
