I was recently over at my neighborhood Autozone and I noticed some cans of black bumper paint, made for textured bumpers. I have a 02 LE with the grey bumpers and I hate them. I don't have the money to have them professionally painted to match the body of the car. So I figure black is the next best thing. I was wondering if anyone has tried this before and if so how does it look?

we have painted several with SEM bumper coater, and the results were great. I wouldnt recommend any other brand. good cleaning and prep will make for a good job.

Its all in the prep.. Take your time and follow directions. Don't forget to mask off or remove lights. Take your time it will turn out fine..
Doing mine this year, removing tape marks and installing some more sinister on the 01 N/A.. Just need the weather to stay warm and dry for a few days without pollen drifts(been really bad this year).

The sem products work really well, you can find them at an automotive paint supply store. Most people dont spend enough time on the prep and most people are not the best at masking .Take your time to triple check your masking so it doesnt look like a back yard job.Lastly too much build up of paint is not a good thing in this case.Just try to get it even and allow time to dry between coats and you should be able to fix your bumpers for under 50 bucks includeing a plastic drop cloth to prevent over spray from getting on the rest of the car.good luck and keep on cruizin,Ray.
