Better to paint it in a body shop, to avoid much expenses in case you done it wrong.

This fall, I decided to try and paint the stock bumpers with a $5 can of Krylon "Plastic" paint. Unfortunately, it only comes in four colors, bright blue, white, black and yellow. The black has a bit of a gloss to it and actually looks 100% better than they gray. Get a roll of masking tape and some old news papers and give it a try. Make sweeping motions and keep the can about ten inches away when you spray. Before you know it they'll be calling you Michael Angelo.
Home Depot or Lowes has it in stock.
I have a 2001 PT. Dropped by the dealer just after the warrantee had expired but they did replace the bumpers. I now have the same problem. I did paint the mud guards with Krylon and they have held up pretty good. I was wondering when you painted your bumpers did you sand/use a primer first? Stopped by a body shop today to see about getting them painted. No guarantee that the paint would hold. Also the panels between the doors are terrible. I tried several things to clean. I decided to have them painted.
You can send me an email at bossrap@hotmail.com and use PT Cruiser as the subject. Thanks Ross

Sinrossco,

Welcome to the forum.

You've replied to a posting that 2 years old and the person your asking questions to (PT GEEZR) hasn't been around since 2008. The upper left hand corner of each post tells you when it was on the forum.
