The mesh can be easily taken off. It's only on by 3M tape.

To anyone that this interests to...

I'm going to sell my hood scoop I got. I don't want to install it on my car...Just had a sudden change of heart. I'll ship it for $23 to anyone that wants it. Just send me a PM, I'll send you my PayPal and I'll ship it as soon as I recieve payment. If you don't have paypal, let me know what you plan to use for payment and we can work something out.

Thanks

Looks good, I know up here in Canada I can get a similiar one for around $45 at a national chain store.

BTW, was looking at your soon to get mods and you mention a turbo. What type are you looking at? The reason I ask is that to put a Mopar one on, that is a lot of work.

I also was looking at some way to set up a ram air system but I'm not too sold on a aftermarket hood scoop. The ram air hoods are really nice but the wife has put the kabash on a limit to my toy habit. Instead, I was thinking of drilling out my fake portals on the side of my hood and then running sometype of flex hose (maybe something like a sump pump hose) down to my Airaid intake. My only problem is trying to figure out how I can get the water to run off instead of it flooding out my Airaid.
Any thoughts on this???

Lately I was looking at the stock airbox, it's much more airtight than the Airaid. I was thinking of taking the factory snorkel that goes into the fender liner, and rotate it 180 degrees. Then I'd put my drop in K&N back in, and the air would go into the bottom of the box, then up through the filter, instead of down on it. That would mean you'd have to get the whole box full of water before the filter would get wet. If something could be fitted in the bottom of the box that would drain when water would get into the box yet still seal everything up with pressure that would be great. I know toilets have a pressure sensitive diaphragm of sorts in them, maybe something like that... It would be nice if something was wired up, that when raining you could just flip a switch in the car, and a drain would open. Flip it again when it's nice and ram air.

That would be a nice setup with your hood portals. Even if it wouldn't ram air in too much, you'd still have about as cold of a CAI as possible!

Not exactly sure WHICH turbo I am going to purchase, but I will more than likely go for MOPAR and get a family friend who is a backyard mechanic to install it for me for probably (MAYBE) $50.

He's never been one to like attention so I guess it carries over to his car too.

Hey, I don't know if they still do it, but Hahn does a REALLY nice turbo setup for the PT. I have been drooling over it for some time now and I think the entire kit casts around $1200. Plus I have heard that it is relatively easy to install (as easy as a turbo CAN be.)

I think they dropped the turbo kit for the PT. I'm looking into it as well. My tranny seems to be wanting to die, so if I have to pull that out and go through it, I may as well add a turbo... I still want to find out how much the stock block can take, I'd like to run 250hp ish and I don't know what it can handle. I was checking out Bstockums website. He has a kit with a whole new bottom end for $750. Then you can run high boost without having to worry about knock or blowing apart the bottom end.
