I will take some pictures of the footwell lighting I have inside my car tonight and give you some instructions on how I did it if you would like, the last neons are ordered and will be here tomorrow afternoon. I will post pictures of the completed grille by tomorrow night.

Hopefully I will get the time to do more (under-hood, maybe even under-body)

Did you use LEDs or Neons for all the interior stuff?

neons, the tubes are easier to mount in my opinion and they give the slight orange glow that is tough to find in any other brand.

Crewzin, I think I am right on this, but as you are good with the whole law thing I figured I'd just make sure. Neon lights in a car are only legal for show use and not on roads, right?

I thought just the under part of the car was illegal to have neons on the roads. The new Ford Focus's have that Ambient lighting that lights up the car as if it had interior lighting (neons etc..)

But yeah - Make sure, lol.

I know here in Texas they can be an ass about it.. Here is what i know.
Except as expressly authorized by law, a person may not operate or move equipment or a vehicle, other than a police vehicle, with a lamp or device that displays a red light visible from directly in front of vehicle. So as long as the undercarriage light is not red it should not be a problem.
Also to avoid conflict with other laws regarding required color of lighting devices mounted on certain locations of the vehicle, the actual lighting device itself (i.e. neon tube light) should not visible. If all you can see is the glow of the light being projected onto the roadway, thats ok. .
It also say that you can drive with them ( neon lights, ) on.. As long as you cant see the tubes you are fine..Any color tube that is directly visible from the front, rear, sides (esp. reserved emergenct colors) is strictly prohibited.

And as far as LEDS or tubes inside, The lights need to be mounted below the dash line of the vehicle interior so it will not interfer with the drivers ability to see outside the windows due to reflection off the interior of the window. Otherwise interior neon lights are ok as long as they are not red.

Yeah so we have it bad here...oh and no neon License .. or strobe ...

That is what I heard, either way, I don't drive with them on. I only use them at shows or any other time when I am parked. Hiding the tubes is a must for me because I really hate it when they are badly mounted and you can see them! makes the whole car look tacky.

OK, I was in the midst of installing the two new tubes and finally had them in the right place and everything when, surprise, I broke one. I have had to make do with the one and I just mounted it on the vertical brace in the center of the radiator. I will post pics as soon as I can.
