Question Chrome striping and bumper covers

I fell in love with a slightly used 2007 PT Touring Edition. There are some bumper scratches and I wanted to just use some chrome covers for the front and back and some chrome striping down each side. It's an "opal" colored (light periwinkle) with gray interior and I think the chrome would give it a really nice look. What I am wanting to know is where to find it and what kind of price range I am looking at. I am not going to call my dealer about this because they are bandits! Anybody got some ideas for a great-granny who loves her PT?

Try www.raceandstreet.com for some accessories. I love my chrome door cups and I've had PT owners stop me and ask where I got them. (i gotta put up some new pics this evening!)

Hooligan turned me on to Maggie's website and I now have a wish list going!

yes definitly check out Maggie's. I got lots of cool stuff from there. Also ebay has lots of chrome stuff.
So bumper moldings and side molding's you can buy at auto parts supply places. Just look for the rolls of chrome moldings the have all different sizes.
you just have to cut it to size.
I'm doing some interior stuff on mine right now and am going to buy some wider 1 1/2 stuff to put on the lower lift gate.
Save you some money in the long run.
I'll snap a few pics on the weekend if it gets nice out here.

Talking Re: Chrome striping and bumper covers

Thank you both. I am looking into the stuff you cut yourself. My BIL has done a lot of customizing and restoring so I'll bet he could do this for me. My grandson (he's in Iraq) just emailed me, teasing me that "Nanny's gonna pimp out her PT."

Cool Re: Chrome striping and bumper covers

Yeah, well, here I go trying to talk hubby into spending the loot. He bought me the car for Christmas, paid for a new headliner and a chrome lock-style gas cap and now I want more. I'm just a high-maintenance granny.

But you tell me that the chrome trim with that light periwinkle color and silvery gray interior wouldn't look sharp! It's a Touring edition and we have taken it from FL to SC and it was pretty darn good on the pick up and on gas. Now he wants one, in black, for himself. LOL

07Ptowner,
Can I ask you where you got the piece that says "Classic PT Cruiser"? It looks like its where you open the car door. Is it put on with 3M tape? I really really like the looks of that!
I've ordered a few things this weekend, gas cap door, port holes and chrome hub caps (can't afford the chrome wheels so hub caps will do for me). Would love to have the antenna thing but afraid to put it on and I'd like a little more chrome on the outside and then start on the inside.
Love your mods!

Jolie!

those door sills I got at Race and Street. they were the least expensive and are a 4 pce set.

they are a 5 min mod and really look great. Just have to watch for the tiny rocks that get caught in the letters when cleaning.

And for small chrome touches, besides the door-handle cups, you could also do doorlock knobs, Ac/vent knobs, various types of dash trim, e-brake handle covers........ then there's the BIGGER goodies: new grills, maybe lake pipes.....

Sometime it seems the Cruiser owner motto oughta be something like "Abandon all credit cards, ye who join us!" But it sure is fun!Welcome to the forum!

OK! here's some cheap and easy chrome dress up mods for the interior.

Cost me $17 for the chrome molding and I still have lots left.
