I must be a little different but I wouldn't trade the look of my 06 front end for one of the older ones for anything. I think this is a bettter looking front, it looks low and wide.

each is own...

I think that the 06+ lower part of the bumper doesn't look "retro" anymore and this doesn't fit with the look of the car.

But it's me.

I agree with Duster the older front end does look more retro.

theyre all universal tha only difference is the mounting...79s should have a black strip and plastic end caps and be a lot more bigger!!
but actually ive got bumpers just like yours on my 68
