'06 PT with '05 and older look...

I must be a little different but I wouldn't trade the look of my 06 front end for one of the older ones for anything. I think this is a bettter looking front, it looks low and wide.

I think that the 06+ lower part of the bumper doesn't look "retro" anymore and this doesn't fit with the look of the car.

I agree with Duster the older front end does look more retro.

I cut them in half I used 2 rear bumpers to make a front bumper. They cost about $80 each and only needed 1 front bumper to make my rear bumper. I like the '05 grill better and would like to find a chrome egg crate style grille to replace the '06.
I also modified a GEM hood ornament to get that 40's look

those arent 79 vw bumpers...theyre like 67 back...

theyre all universal tha only difference is the mounting...79s should have a black strip and plastic end caps and be a lot more bigger!!
but actually ive got bumpers just like yours on my 68
