E&G bumpers. Made of what?

Hi,

I've been wanting to do upgrades to my car for ages but haven't had the money. Looks like I'm getting closer though. I really like the look of the E&G bumpers, especially with the bumerettes. It has kinda an old Beetle retro look to it. I'm after a retro look and mostly want to get rid of the gray bumpers. I want to know though if these bumpers are made of ABS or urethane or something else. Can't seem to find that info anywhere. I want something that can take a similar impact to the stock bumper without damage. I hit a deer at about 5mph with my stock bumper and didn't make a mark. I don't want to spend almost $800 on bumpers and have a moderate tap destroy it.

The majority of the bumper looks like the same material that made up my first bumper cover from Xenon. It was made from Urethane . However the ones your looking at look like they have polished stainless steel inserts. They won't take any kind of impact at all. I have the stainless steel lower lip cover and the polished stainless steel underhood. Both look really good brand new but any kind bump or scrape shows up really well. The under hood stainless steel still looks good from a few feet away but up close you can see all the scratches. The lip spoiler looks like it went thru Hell.

On both your pictures the stainless steel is flat towards the incoming debris. Maybe you can cover it with a clear protective coating like on headlights that won't show and give some protection and still let the shine come thru.
