Hey Everyone,

I like that bottom stainless lip cover Crewzin! I still remember 2 years ago at the River Run, old PT Dave was asking me how I managed to drop my ride that far, and somehow managed to save my lip. That was all it took, and the very next day, I snapped it walking it into a driveway.

I am working on a skid plate that will have a lip about half the width of the one Crewzin has under his front fascia, but will brake at a 90 degree angle that will go the full width under the fascia, and will be mounted directly to the lower metal mounts behind the bumper, and will be Rhino Lined in black so that I can drag it without hurting the paint.

As for the sides, this was a quick pic I did to give my friend an idea of my one of our side skid plate concept ideas, so its pretty crude, so don't pay much attention to it! Just more/less kicking around ideas. Anyways, is this where your thinking Cyclone?

We are still kicking around a few ideas, but you get the idea!

Take it easy!

That was a picture of mine when I first bought it. Since then it's been off the car about half a dozen times to reshape it and polish it up. You can't scrape the stainless steel lip even a little bit without getting it out of shape and scratching it up.

I'm getting pretty good at it now and can get it off in about 5 minutes. Lots of bumper screws and even my front undercar LED light has to come off to get the whole lip off. I round the stainless steel lip out with a rubber mallet.

Candyman, if you can come up with something that looks good and can take a little beating, I'd sure replace mine.

Hey their Crewzin,

Have no fear Candyman is here! LOL I will have to let you know as soon as I get done with mine, and see how they come together. I could imagine taking that thing off would be a pain to take off, and have to straighten all the time! That was a big priority on my list was to make something that I know I can abuse, as no matter how careful I am, I know it is gonna hit every now, and then, and I would really hate to tear it up now that I just got it all redone! It should be really solid by the time we get it done, and with the Rhino Lining, it should look good, and last a good long time!

I actually never noticed until I was looking at that pic how very well color coordinated you are! You got your PT, Vette, and even your house matched up pretty well their, and I would still kill for a garage like that! Way cool my man!

Take it easy, and I will update you on how it all comes out! We will find a better way to do this for sure!

I had the SS on the lip of the 2002, but did not remove it for the 2006. For some reason the '06 seemed to ride higher and the lip seldom scraped in areas the '02 would. I also had to remove the lip and beat out, I should have just used it for shows!!

I like the idea of custom parts.
and I really like the idea for options for an auto shift knob.

even though there already exists a ball shaped auto knob (with no visiable button)...if i remember it was near 100$

I know with "custom one offs" come a higher price....
but what price will you be thinking about selling these items at?

I very much like the idea of manufacturing adapter plates to allow other already produced accessories. like the mirrors.

perhaps a collar that bolts to the auto shifter shaft then you screw in any manual shifter ontop of that....to activate the shift you press down on the shifter.

Hey pauly,

Congrats on your new ride, and welcome to the PT Family! Here are a couple of PT Sites where you can find all kinds of PT Parts including Roll Pans!

The first, and one of the best Sites that I recommend is Cruiser Motorsports! Mitch is a great guy, and if you mention Candyman sent you, he should give you a pretty good deal! Here is the Link!

Products Menu

And here is another one. PTeazer has some good quality parts, but they do cost a little more, and Ray is pretty busy a lot of the time, so it takes a long time to get a response! Anyway, here is his Link:

PTEAZER - Your Source For PT Cruiser Parts, PT Cruiser Aftermarket Parts, PT Cruiser Accessories, PT Cruiser Conversions, PT Cruiser Modifications and Panel Conversions.

Hope that helps you!

Take it easy!

I'd definitely be interested in a front skidplate. How far back are you planning to run it? Under the engine and trans or just a bit past the stock plastic lip? I have to drive gravel road 4 miles to get to the highway, and they're poorly maintained. Right now there's two potholes that will bottom my suspension if I forget to swerve. Today a mole made a pile right in the middle of the road and I smoked that... it had been lower when I went over it before, I guess it added to it! First time I've ever hit a molehill with my car! If I do end up having to winter drive a skidplate would be very nice.
