The plate is legal in most states except for Texas which just passed a law stating no license plate frame at all.

However the reason Neon is illegal
1.It because it drowns out the Tag so it's not visble within 50 feet. 2. It replaces the mandatory white tag light. and because they use all different types of lights like blue, purple, green, etc...
3. It may cover up expiration stickers or the name of the state
4. It has no other use except as decoration.

The StreetTag is legal in most states because:

1. We do not replace the tag light
2. We use only RED lights
3. It acts as a safety device with the Third brake light
4. You can install the Frame two different ways so that you dont cover up state information.
5. Police are using them for amber alerts. where citizens will also be able to particpate.
6. You can also turn off the message by programming it with a blank message.
