Default Metal paint

I was at a show today and a guy came up in an old ford fairlane with a paint job I never saw before. It was metal flake, but much different than what I've seen before. Every angle it looked different. In the shade it was pearl, in the sun, 6 different colors danced around. He showed me his business card, he was a paint chemist and likes to play around experimenting on cars.

Sounds like House of Kolor Chameleon paint. I heard rumor that there was a line of color changing paint on the market. I think I'll do a little web searching and find out.

Chrome-illusion?

Probably bad spelling. When introduced, I heard a figure of $800.00 pint. I don't know if this is accurate or not. Sometimes referred to as "Shade Shifting" paint. Great for painting "Ghost Flames" using the same base color as the background color it is painted on.

This may have been what you were looking at.

One thing for sure, if one company has a product like that, it won't be long before others are finding that one change needed to get it out under their name and trademark without risking patent infringement.

edit: After looking at the House of Kolor site, it looks like that is what you saw. Price is better too!
