I finally got around to starting on moving the gas filler behind the taillight. I have everything mocked in place. I now need to move the tube to the filler plate I have made and weld up the factory gas door opening. Here are some pics of what I have done so far.

Thanks for the encouragement. Just what you see in the pics is about 2 days worth of work. I hope to get time to do more on it this weekend. I will post updates as I do them

I was able to get time to work on the gas door some today. I have added more pics to the photobucket page so just click the link above to check them out. I still have a lot left to do but, I'm much closer to completion than I was.
The majority of the time spent on this project today was not photographed. This was because we spent a good bit of time re work the stock filler neck to work in its new location. We did this by heating and bending it. It was a slow process but I like it better than just rubber line. I ended up cutting approx. 6 inches off the end of the neck after we got the bends right. |

Ray, thanks for your support. A thumbs up from someone as talented as you means a lot. I really appreciate you talking so long with me on the phone and answering so many questions. Anyone who has not dealt with Ray, I can not say anything but good things about him and the products he puts out. Ok, now that the ass kissing is done (just kidding Ray
), how cool would it be to open this door with an air cylinder?

just an update for those interested...I put gas in the car yesterday to see how the neck was gonna work since it is no longer a vertical drop. Well, it was not great. I think I'm gonna be on the lookout for an another filler and/or change to a larger size tube.
