Smile Coming down to the wire:

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I have been quiet around here for a few days. As most of you probably already know, during my re-doing my trunk audio system my installer who was handling the wiring accidentally slipped on a screwdriver, lost his balance and fell creating a dent in my left rear quarter panel. Well, I have been hard at work over the last few days at my friend's body shop trying to get the body and paint back into shape for a big show this weekend. Here are a few pic's from my past couple of days.

Here is my baby sitting outside after pulling the dent and a lot of filling, sanding, and shooting primer. No matter how many times I color sand a panel for paint, I still get that nervous sick feeling like " What the heck did I just do"

Here is my baby sitting in front of my friend Steve's booth getting ready for paint. This is the same booth I shot my flame job in a little over a year ago.

And in the booth ready for final prep. To keep any airborne contaminants from getting into the paint during spraying the inside walls, and floor are washed with chemical and water.

Now all the prep is done, plastic covered the area's where we did'nt want overspray, and it was the point of no return.

And finally I came out of retirment just for the day and shot some color.

And finally the finished product.

Not too bad considering I don't paint very often anymore, and this was my very first time using a water borne Candy Pearl Paint on a custom mixed House of Kolor Tangerine. Amazingly the color is amost a dead on match, and with a little blending you won't be able to tell where the work was done.

So tomorrow is Friday...D-Day. I went back in the booth this afternoon and shot my dash gauge cluster, center bezal, air bag cover, aair vents, and amp rack all in Candy Tangerine which should be dry by morning, and then my installer is coming over to my place after he gets off work to finish the interior leather work and final assembly of the new audio set up, and will work long into the night for a big lowrider show that has an early roll in time of 5:00AM! Its for sure coming down to the wire on this one, but so far I have faith we can make it happen!

Anyways, that is what I have been up to lately. I'll try to snap off some more pic's manyana.

Till then, you guys go easy, and I will catcha later!

Hey Everyone,

Also just for fun, here are a couple pic's of other cool rides in Steve's shop right now.

And as I have mentioned a couple of times, Steve, who made my springs for my PT, is pretty into off road, and used to build Trophy Trucks for off road racing at Baja. Here is one of his trucks he is working on as a side project.

Anyways, I just figured I would post them for the fun of it. It's always fun to hang out at the shop and take in all the hot rods in production!

You guys go easy, and I will catch ya later.

Hey their John,

Man I got so sunburned! LOL Now I really am a redneck!

I was so busy catching pics of everything else around I didnt get much in the way of good shots of my new stuff. How did those ones you took come out?

Oh, and that dark blue PT took first, and the Almond one took second. Not only cool trophy s but first also took $6000.00, and second took $4000.00 including a 4' trophy! So next year I got to bring it bigger and better for sure!

Anyways, I thank you again for cruising out! It was a really cool day, and UI can't wait for next weekend!

Till then, here are a few pics

Anyways, you guys go easy, and I'll catch you later

Pretty cars damn I miss LA at times like this.. Today was the first day I went outside this year without a jacket and didn't regret it..

Ok how did you lower the mini-PT.. Those are awsome shots and you can tell it was blistering hot out there..

Candyman a sunburn trick for ya.. Yes its strange but its a redneck helper!

White vinegar on a washcloth will help with the sting of the sunburn. Just a couple cap fulls in a bowl of water dip wash cloth wring out and use as a compress. Just let it sit there, you would be amazed at how it makes your skin feel cooler. When it warms up repeat. Yes you smell funny but you feel better.

And get the most gentle lotion you can find, it helps your skin from drying out, stay away from anything with alcohol in it - no Gels. Curel makes a couple good ones, I use that when I heal a new tattoo - its mostly glycerine which is what you want.
