Just scored my PT Truck project wheels!!!!!

these are "truckish".. for what ive been looking at
but I plan to run a push thru bullet center cone/cap, a beauty ring,
and bullet lugs. Who can tell me where to have a push thru bullet cone made in 57.1 mm (4 of em) or wheret o buy em? smallest I can find is 2.5 inches. the 57.1mm is close enough to 2 and a quarter inch...
and whitewalls even if I hafta try and shave em myself.
Not going to find anything in reverse moons for my bolt pattern and offset. And the stock steelie PT wheels look like dookey for what Im after..
but these, I love.. and they are NOS 15 year old VW corrado wheels with the same offset or at least one that will work (35mm), bolt pattern, and even same 57.1mm hub hole!!!
heck i can even 2 tone these things...

Where did you get them? Will they take old style hubcaps? No problem clearing brakes? I'm looking for something to put my whites on and use the OEM rims for winters. Thanks

Well the wheels came in today.
They look sweet (to me).
Im going for a simplistic retro rod look. not the blingy tall wheels that werent even thought of way back in the day. Nothing wrong with em, I just aint shooting for that look is all.
So ...

I got some bullet lugs. Those with a bullet center cap (push thru from the rear type) will get me close enough to the old "spyder caps"...
Im having a helluva time finding anything near 51.1mm (hub hole size) so I might have to make something.... stay tuned....
for now, the tires aint on (thats tomorrow)...

To answer the Q's from above...

I got these wheels off ebay. They are old VW cornonado wheels, but never been mounted. SOme guy got a pallet of them and was selling 11 sets. Mine still has the stickers on em in side the rim! and they are 15 plus years old...
I do not know what caps will fit them... but someone on a VW forum might.

And as for when its paint time, soon candyman..soon.....

the reason they are so popular in the desert car realm is they can easily be widend without affecting the offset, just because of how the wheels are put together. they widen the outer rim part, and are able to get fat tires on em.
