Backup Lights... Need more light!!!!
Okay I hope this is the right place for this. I live in South Tx, so it is hot.. I tinted my windows now I am having a difficult time with the amount of light that the reverse lights put out. Does anone know of bulbs that will throw out enough light ? I have been looking at dif bulbs but I wanted to ask if anyone has come up with anything. I do not want to add or mount a light that will come on when I put it in reverse or that is switched on...

I purchased a pair like these:
TYC 01-05 PT CRUISER EURO CLEAR BACKUP TAIL LIGHTS SET!:eBay Motors (item 380106181822 end time Jul-22-09 12:46:16 PDT) The lenses is clear instead of frosted like on the OEM. I've had mine about a year and haven't had any problems so far.

I like those, but the problem is those ar only for up to the 05 PT Cruiser.. I have an 06 and as you know Chrysler in there infinite wisdom change alot of things from 05 to the 06 model. Im still looking though, hopefullt I can find something like that. Thank you ..

The backup lens is too thick for proper light
 I have 18 led's in each light. But the lens is the first issue and the second is the grey plastic surround which just absorbs the light.

Tell me about it.. I tried to do the same but still could not put out the type of light that I wanted.. Back to the drawing board, hopefully I can find a clear lens for my PT

If you feel ambitious popping the lens off and spraying the housing white would really help. Then maybe sanding down the back of the lens.
I imagine your driving a 06+?

Yup, the 06 is the one that Chrysler decided to scew with, why I have no idea.. It suck not being able to use some of the parts off older PT's. But you know I could try the white on the housing, but you mentioned sanding the lens. Didn't or haven't thought of that. Im up for anything though.

We saw those, but the price threw us .. I mean $80 for them... Alittle high for me.. I can get HID's for a lower price shipped. Thank you though

Hi,
I have just purchased the TYC reverse lights and was wondering how to wire it up on my Export PT 2001? Do I run cable from the existing reverse light to the new reverse light? Cheers
