I just bought a PT Cruiser with the front bumper damaged. I was wondering how do I change the bumper. It looks easy to do and would hate to waste money to have it done by a mechanic.

Hi ,if you go onto the pteazer sight or you tube there is a insallation vidio for pteazer front fashia this is exactly the same proceadure for replacing a factory part. Its really easy and we did a time trial with two guys we did the complete swap in 25 minutes.NOW THATS WITH GUYS THAT HAD PROBABLY DONE IT TWENTY TIMES .but you get the idea its simple. you need a seven and a ten millameter and another pair of hands to prevent scratching the edges of the fenders when it flys off.Good luck Ray Newton Pteazer.

Sort of a related question, since I didn't want to start a whole new thread.
I have a 2001 PT that was in an accident in the past and had the front grille replaced before I bought it. I was checking out some of some of the front fashia bumperettes on the PTteazer site, and was wondering if that past accident would cause problems with that kind of mod. Thanks. |

Hi Branvonwolfe,Installing the Pteazer front bumper and grill should not be any differnt than replaceing any stock bumper and grill. Only it will look much nicer. The sheet metal on the pt is very thin so sometimes even if the fenders have been pushed back a bit you can actually loosen the one front mounting bolt behind the grill and actually pull the fender out by hand(yes by hand) and use a washer to hold it out a little. sounds crazy but its that easy. This would only be nessesary if someone did a poor job of fixing it the first time. I hope you pick one of my fronts we need more happy cruisers out there.thanks Ray Newton Pteazer.

Thanks for the response Ray.
Yeah, a PTeazer front is definitely on my list of mods. I did notice you are located in Santa Ana. I'm fairly close by (Whittier). Was wondering if stopping by the shop and having somebody take a look at the current front I have on would be possible? |
