Hi gang, one of my first posts. My new (2007) PT 2.4 non turbo needs a little grunt. Anyone recommend a catback exhaust system? What about a cold air return? My husband added a Mopar cold air return to his Dodge Charger and it seems to have added 2-5 HP. He's saving for a catback system...I want to beat him to the punch.
Thanks to all Lozz |

Do you want dual or single? The duals just add looks, not performance over a single outlet.
I like the BTG exhaust, because it is true flow-thru - you can see thru each piece - it is deep and not insanely loud - even my wife accepts the sound. I strongly suggest you find a PT club or meet and listen to exhaust before you buy - music to one is noise to another... Not sure what "cold air return" means, but the PT does like aftermarket intake kits - do a search on "intake"...

You'll get noise, but no grunt. You can't even feel 2-5 hp with the butt dyno. For the na PT an exhaust will give you a cooler sound, but no hp gain. An intake will also give you a cooler sound, but again, no hp gain you'll feel. In fact, a hot air intake will cost you both hp and torque so get one like the Airaid or the Volant as they at least try to keep the hot air out and do a pretty good job of it.
