Default Hitch Removal

I am going to remove the "hidden Hitch" from my GT.....looks awful(bought it that way). Anything i should look out for/know about prior to digging into this job?

Behind the tail lights you should have the verticle bolts. Make sure you take your spare tire off before starting. When you're done I suggest maybe taping off some of that open area around your right rear taillight, it's caused me nothing but troubles in the rain and winter.

I have a heavy polished aluminum tape I used, not only functional but looks nice too!!

If you do tape the area off, leave some space to allow some air to flow around inside that body panel.

I'm curious about the "looks awful" "hidden Hitch".
Thinking about towing a small trailer....and the hidden hitch is one that I've been looking at.
Speak to me, please!

heres the thing....i don't tow, but the car came with it already installed/ from the back end, all I can see is the muffler tip(with black sooty residue on the bottom....probably running rich), and a gross rusty square(there is no plastic cover on the hitch). That is my reason for removing it. Probably does the job great as this puppy has some power and torque to boot.
