I don't have a good picture of the car at the angle shown above with the top up. Part of the reason I'm liking the black is the same reason I went with black wheels, to offset the black ragtop. Here's a before and after mockup with the grill blacked in like above.

I prefer using gas over charcoal, gas is faster, with charcoal you have to plan ahead longer.

2003 Pt Cruiser GT Autostick. I agree with you 03, now torn on which way to go. Maybe I'll pull the chrome off my stock grill and paint it Black Pearl Metallic (the color I'm going to do the top half of the car) and see how that looks. I got a feeling it'll be as nice, if not better than the rest. One thing I do like about the blackened Q style grill is the lower half, and my tube bars on the car now are bent like sh*t from hitting a 5 gallon plastic bucket of hydraulic fluid doing 80 on the highway... at least it save the nose of the car!!!
