to get that 'HID Feeling' (yes, I have actually seen Korean packaging that says this in English), most bulb manufacturers do one of two things, or both of them.
1) they take a standard Halogen bulb, and fill the globe with about 32% Xenon gas, which makes it burn a more white color. 2)They coat the glass with some sort of film, usually blue, to give it a blue look. Make sure the bulbs you get are SAE and DOT legal, and they say so on the package. Also make sure you're careful with higher wattage bulbs. Many here have reported melted reflectors, burnt plugs, etc. Higher wattage bulbs use more electricity, and generate more heat than standard wattage bulbs.

Stock OEM bulbs are rated at 55W I believe, check your owner's manual.

Yeah, hella doesn't even sell the 9005XS or the 9006XS. These bulbs have a straight plug base.

Go to www.streetglow.com - I've been using the Xenon bulbs for 2 months and I love them. They are so much brighter than stock and have a great almost pure white light.
