What exactly is the "Bumper Cover"

I'm interested in the Xenon front cover but if it just goes over the existing one in some way I have a problem. Apparently I parked too close to a light pole in a parking lot and while backing out I barely touched it but it was enough to brake most of the tabs for bolting it on, along with the inner fender well and the original front air dam. For obvious cost concerns I'd like not to go to the dealer if I don't have too?! Can anyone steer me in a cost efficient way to fix my Cruiser while possibly customizing it at the same time??<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

Your right in thinking the bumper cover is just that....a cover for the front or rear bumper. It won't do for fixing what you have discribed in your minor accident. There are numerous ways in which you can fix the front end and customize your PT at the same time. Take a look at the PT-of-the-week on this forum...no front bumper at all. There are loads of after-market kits available for the PT. Take a look at the home page of this forum under exterior accessories. Lots of different ways to go...but they all cost money. Take your time, look at all the pictures of different front ends and deceide which you like and which fits your budget. Good Luck.

Yeah all that bumper cover does is it goes over the original bumpers. The main reason people want to buy it is to paint it the same color as their car so their bumper will not look out of place. Since its really really hard to paint the furnished bumper its easier and lot better to buy the cover and paint that.
