I see that Moss is selling a polished hood liner panel. Anyone have one? Anyone have one on your wish list? I'm interested in the fit and quality of this part. It looks good in the photo. What do you think?

I have one on my wish list. Just wondering, those that have the polished hood liner... do you leave them in all the time or do you just install them for shows, especially on daily drivers?

I have one (2 pieces upper/lower). Got mine from American Car Craft. It stays on all the time. Only problems were that I had to lower the vanity cover 1/8 inch and the lower edge of the large piece hits the tower strut bar (hardly noticeable).

I just talked to American Car Craft (about 1/2 hour drive from me). They sold a bunch of sets (upper & lower) to MOSS and now as you see, Moss is selling them. Both ACC and Moss have about the same prices. The upper (big) piece goes for $179.95 at both places. Shipping at ACC is $24.95 anywhere. The lower piece is cheaper at Moss by $1.00 $94.95 at Moss, $95.95 at ACC. Again, $24.95 at ACC for shipping anywhere. I don't know what the shipping charges are for either piece at MOSS. www.Americancarcraft.com
A couple of notes: I have lighted washers. The upper piece does not come off easily. It's screwed, glued and taped on. Therefore I put the lighted washers on an on/off switch and only use them occasionally so the bulbs won't burn out. Second: The edge of the vanity cover was just touching the stainless steel upper piece right in the middle. I took the three pins that hold the vanity cover and took off the washer on each pin (not hard) and this let the vanity cover sit just a little bit lower and all is fine. Third, I have the Race & Street tower strut bar (those with a GT don't have to worry) and the bar is right at the top of the cowl and hits the bottom edge trim of the stainless steel. Not bad but does leave an impression on the edge. P.S. ACC also makes a battery cover to match...sorry, not for the GT. ![]()

As you can see, I have the BTG strut brace. I am holding off on the hood liner because I don't want something on my car that hits on it. If someone with the strut brace has a cure for this I may reconsider. I sure like the looks of the liner.
Thanks for you input everyone. This forum ROCKS! GTSteve

GTSteve,
As you can see (almost) from my pic, the Race & street strut bar is as high as the cowl and that's where it slightly hits. Your's with the turbo looks a lot lower since you don't have the vanity cover. I may be wrong and it could be just the angle of your picture but it certainly looks lower than mine. Here's a closer pic and you can see the bar right up against the rubber compartment edge along the firewall. ![]()

It's possible that the hood liner won't rub. I'd like to see if anyone else has a hood liner installed along with the BTG brace. Thanks for the info. Steve
