Default Power Antenna

[:I]

Hey everyone,

Has anybody installed the power antenna available from Cruiserbits Moss Motors? I was thinking of putting it in, following the instructions from the PTDoItYourself website. I'm going to avoid all the antenna cable splicing, however, using an adapter from Crutchfield. I think the unit Moss is selling is a German-manufactured antenna that is the OEM part for European cars with the power antenna.

Anyone have any thoughts on this or can anyone verify/dispell the above info?

Thanks

Kid

Hi I have not been on the forum for quite some time now just browsing when I saw this thread. I have that Antenna installed now for 2 years and it is an excellent unit. The reception is great even at 1 inch extended. I had my install man put in 2 time delay switches so that I can extend or retract. I can make my own "Shorty Antenna" per say. I have it set to extend about 10 inches when the radio or the ignition is powered and when they are turned off it goes down.

I am glad to hear that as I have purchased that exact unit and am waiting time free to install it.

As an aside, Moss was great to order from too!

As my wife has just bought her 2.2 CRD PT Cruiser, I can say there is no power antenna on European models. This is an aftermarket upgrade conversion. Do you know the 2.2 CRD engine in USA ?
It's a 2.2 liters common-rail turbo diesel engine from Mercedes C classe, originaly rated at 143hp but down to 121hp in the PT.
The diffrence is only a low ECM calibration, so buy a performance unit at amazing www.giwasa.com to get back 170hp or add a bigger intercooler and reach 200hp.
Honestly, I prefer driving my 71'440 Dodge challenger but due to high pump gaz taxes here, there is no comparison possible
Greetings from a french Mopar fan.

Welcome, Frenchie!
Didn't know all that about the diesel. Not available in US (yet?).

Hey, you can post in the Turbo forums.
