Not sure where to get the kit. I was told something about it only being sold to shops or something. However, the guys who will be doing the work have done it once, they say, and obviously know where to get it. By late November, I will know what the kit is, how much (exactly), who makes it, where to get it, because I'm getting suicide doors over Christmas.

I'd prefer the lower opening personally. If anyone knows how this is done, I'd be interested to know.
The Cruiser you are asking about was done by the shop at PTeazer in Westminister, California. I was told by the owner of the shop that if I had to ask how much the conversion cost that I couldn't afford it. Even he was surprised at how much money the car's owner spent on the conversion. I do agree with you that they did a fantastic job. I've seen that car in person several times now. It's been a show winner every time. If I had the money, I'd have my Cruiser there tomorrow.

I hate it when people presume that if you're asking the price of something, that you can't afford it. That's a real snobby and arrogant attitude, and one that just might blow off a potential customer. I don't care how much money they think you have, if you're asking you're probably interested, and probably have the cash. Thanks for the answer to the question as to who did it though, Basset Hound.

This person was being neither a snob or arrogant. He was just kidding around. I never asked how much because I know that I can't afford to have it done even though I do have the cash to do it no matter what it would cost. Since I'm not planning on having it done to my cruiser I felt that the cost was none of my business. The people at PTeazer run a first rate shop. If I were to decide to have this project done I would not hesitate to have them do it, because I know that they would do it right.

I was told by someone who talked to the owner of the one with the split hatch that the Modifcations cost $35,000

I'm going to assume $35,000 is for ALL the mods and not the hatch and doors because for them to cost that much, they'd better be solid gold and work FOR me so I can kick back and relax...

Personally I like the higher opening doors. Larry Dueschel's doors only open about 45 degrees. But I would love to have the info on that kit when you find out. I prefer doing things myself if it's within my capabilities.
