Does anyone now where I can go to turn by back doors into suicide doors? Anything in the Seattle, WA area would be prefered. When I finally get a 2003 GT Cruiser I would love to add these to it.
Thanks, John 2001 AquaMarine PT Cruiser (future owner of a 2003 GT Cruiser) |

Try your yellow pages or Yahoo's --> http://yp.yahoo.com
Type in your zip code and search for auto customizing shops. Should find something. |

Same as Jody said... I was introduced to suicide doors over a year ago and found someone to do it but they say it will take 2 weeks of labor.

For the suicide door kit, here's what I was told by someone who has done them before:
$350 per kit, one per door. 2 weeks or so of labor for a total (including kit) of $900 per door. RN See Mephisto

I too, would be interested in the suicide doors. It looks as though there are a couple different methods. The first photo posted with the PT that has the split hatch, has it's doors opening out like stock..even in height with the front doors, while the Looney Cruiser PT's doors swing much higher..I'd prefer the lower opening personally. If anyone knows how this is done, I'd be interested to know. BTW, RC..two weeks is nothing to wait to have a modification of this magnitude. I'd say you were lucky to find someone who can do it that quickly. That's a ton of work to move the hinges, the latches, and the door handles, then to refinish and repaint the doors. Two grand sounds about right for the price also..again..that's a lot of work.
