Default Fiberglass hood

I just bought a fiberglass hood from a provite seller and meet him in person.
I was wondering how the best way to go about painting and revamping it.
Its a dark taupe looking color now and need to have it wet sanded and repainted. What are some of the best processes and should I have a body shop do the work.

Unless you have experience and equipment, repainting a hood isn't something you can do yourself.

Well, if you have the equipment I see no harm in trying to do it yourself. If you screw it up you can always take it to a professional. How else are you going to learn?

KingCole, my fiberglass hood had an air pocket that my body shop didn't detect (not their fault) with fiberglass, sometimes that happens. I would suggest a shop that works on Corvettes, ask them what process should be taken, you want to correct any blemishes, defects prior to painting. I spent $400 to paint the hood once, and another $280 to do it again, Gary
