Haven't seem them around in awhile. I'll see if I can find one in a search.

There were two kinds. One fit over the threaded part of the old window switch and actually moved back and forth when you hit the wiper button. The second looked more realistic with two screws on the outside to make it look like a real handle and a fake key insert but you had to take the actual wiper motor out to make it fit right.

Thanks CREWZIN.I'm looking for the one that requires removing the wiper motor but either one would be OK.

Here's a couple I found in a search. Different than what I explained above but might work for you.

Chrysler PT Cruiser W.N.I. PT Cruiser Chrome Billet Rear Hatch T-Handle

VW Heritage for VW parts and accessories

Volkswagen Bus and Vanagon Door Handles, Exterior

I like the VW handles best but I might end up going with the first one because it's made for a PT.Any ideas on how I could mount the VW handles.
I dont see any on the Race and Street site but I emailed Maggie to see if she can help.

It looks like you'll have to take out the rear wiper motor. Not hard, and insert the VW handle through the hole that's left in the window. A large nut on the inside end would secure it to the hatch. A good rubber washer, if it doesn't come with one will be needed on maybe the inside and outside of the glass to stop any moisture from getting inside the car.

Good idea about Maggie. If anyone can find one, she should.

The only problem I see with the VW part is they didnt have the threaded shaft with a large nut to pull it tightly against the metal. They used a small nut on the tip of the shaft that attached it to the latching mechanism.I have a picture below of what I'm talking about.

Yes, I see what you mean. Don't know a way around that. Did you check out the other links I showed you. Maybe one of them has something different.

No good. Looks like 3 out of 4 links are the VW handle. Maybe Maggie will come up with something.

FOUND ONE. Not made for the PT but I'm sure with a little ingenuity you can make it work.

Ultra Hardware Polished Chrome T Handle Garage Door Lock 49000

...and you sure as heck can't beat that price.
