Question Folding mirrors, Install question

I picked up a set of folding mirrors out of my friends junkyard for 20 bucks today.

I plan on color matching these to the car and want to do it right. Do they come apart in any way, at the fold, I mean. I can mask the glass off no problem.

Also, I have looked into getting the heat to work on them. I have researched here, and can't find out for sure if my car is prewired for it or not. It's a 03 dream cruiser. Seems to be a maybe from what I'm gathering.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Shawn

Default Re: Folding mirrors, Install question

My 2004 base was wired for power mirrors (which I added) but not for the heat function, so I needed to add that wiring.
If the mirrors have the heat function you can do it. You can check if the wiring is in place. Look for a black/white wire running from the rear window defroster switch to fuse #18 (10 amp) in the dash fuse panel. From there light-blue/yellow wires go to the connectors (C204 & C205) at the left and right sides of the dash (remove plastic) and then on to the mirror connectors under the door panels. You can add the wiring yourself. Here is my post:
