Unhappy Highbeam not working...

Hello everyone !

Since I bought my Pt 2 years ago, the high-beam lights are not working.
I was thinking that the bulbs were the problem... but since I didn't need them, I never took the time to replace them.

I made some online research, and I found out that my car has two fuzes, one for Right headlight, and one for the left one, so that wasn't a fuze problem, since the low beam are working fine.

I checked the bulb of the high beam from the outside, and the spring that's in the bulb seems to be fine, and not melted, or cut... So I assume it's not a bulb problem...

What other possibility do i have?
I was thinking maybe it's the turn signal and light switch.

I found this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tchlink:top:en

and this video tutorial:

When I turn ON the high beam, the BLUE light (High beam indicator) on my dash board turns ON, but not the exterior high beam.

If you have a better video tutorial I would take it, because this one doesn't show a lot of details.
But what do you think?
Is it the switch for sure?

Could be the smallest hair line fracture in the lights I would change and try new bulbs before you go and change the MFS

I went to the Silverstars on the low beam headlights and fog lights. World of difference between them and stock bulbs. Makes the stock bulbs look yellow in comparison.

Believe it or not, got em at Wal-Mart.

The low Beam Headlight are 9006XS and the fog lights are 9006ST (which means that the ends are bend down at a 90 degree angle.

Check and see if you actually have voltage at the socket before you spend you money on bulbs. If there's no voltage then you got to fix it first before any bulbs will be bright.

Hi,
It has been more than a year!
I didn't take care of that issue since then... But now I can have some time.

when you say:

You mean that I need to check with a voltmeter if there is voltage in where I plug the bulb?

I couldn't find them at Walmart...
Are those the ones I need? (I don't have fog lights):
SilverStar/Headlight (9006XSST-2) | 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 Cylinders B 2.4L SFI DOHC | AutoZone.com

Or those too?:
New Sylvania Silverstar High Performance Lighting Headlights 9006xs St 2 | eBay

And, how about the high beam?
Is it the same bulb? or a different one?

While the bulbs may be bad and replacing them is not "wrong", It might yet be a fuse.

Your car has two fuses for the low beams, but there are also two fuses (in series) that protect both high-beams. Check fuse #17, 15 amp in the under-hood PDC (might be #16). I know the other one is OK, as I soon say.

That the blue light comes on shows power from the battery, through fuse #1, 25 amp (the one I know is good in the dash fuse block), through the multi-function switch, to a splice, to the blue light in instrument panel. All of these are fine.

From the splice, power circuit goes to PDC fuse #17, then both high beam filaments and grounds. The fuse or bulbs or sockets or all are bad. Or, the wiring circuits could be broken. Check the red/orange 16 gauge wire at the C105 connector (white) below/ behind the dash fuse panel.
My bet is on the PDC fuse.

Thank you for your reply!
Ok, I never had that much information about the fuzes... I'll check all of that and post the results =P

Thank you again!
