Default Painting wing mirrors

For those who have painted their wing mirrors themselves what grades of sandpaper did you use to smooth them out before paint? I dont want to do any damage!

I got a guy that did the job for me all I did wast taking the side mirrors off and he did the prep and painting. I pay around $80.00 so my advice is that it should be done with good paint so it match your car and it will last longer!!!

I might give this a go soon as I can get paint that will match at a good price. Had a little bit of experience spraying. If it was a patch of a body panel, couldn't take it off easily and had to blend I'd go to a professional but I'm pretty confident with the mirrors. If I mess up I'll go to the paint shop.

Will post pics of my efforts (if they are any good)
