Default billet grill question

are the aftermarket billet grills they sell on ebay hard to install? do the bolt over the exsisting grill or do you have to cut the exsisting one out?

Most of them go over the existing grill with 3M tape.

That might be the billet grill that takes the place of the exsisting grill and a lot of those won't have a bottom piece for the turbo because the turbo bottom grill is larger than the non-turbo to give extra air to the inter cooler.

Howdy,

If the billet grill you are looking at is a "Revelations" brand, I would stay away. I ordered one of those grilles and when I got it, nothing fit right. The mounting tabs were way-off, holes not drilled correctly, and some billet strips were loose. I also had a hard time trying to send it back.

Good Luck

Yes on ebaymotor they have these chrome billet grill for my 02 PT Dream, call Imposter Series Grille is the perfect way to transform the front of your vehicle. It mounts over your existing grille and features a patented snap on design that makes installation quick and easy. No drilling, tapeing or removeing the old grill. It literally takes just seconds to install it. It is the perfect compliment to chrome trim. They have a video of how too install it on ebay. Even I can put one on. It's a snap:

As an alternative you could buy some chrome strip and make your own. I cut mine to fit, upper and lower grill. Plus I fitted blackout tape to the verticals. A fraction of the cost and you don't have to worry about a more expensive part not fitting right. Just a sugesstion.

Billet grilles replace the top plastic grille - 2 screws on top and Tabs at the sides that can be tricky.
I used a non-turbo one on my turbo - the vertical support rods on mine that support the horizontal billet strips were black, and I used black zip ties to attach the bottom piece - nearly invisible and hasen't budged in 6 years.
