Default Xenon headlights

Installed Xenon headlight bulbs 80 watt low beam and 100watt high beam. They are great by the way (my night vision is not so good anymore). I have a question of the group. Has anyone had any heat problems with the higher wattage bulbs(singeing)? Stock bulbs are 51w and 80w. I've been told that the halogen filled bulbs are cooler about the same as the stock bulbs, but with more wattage.
Anyone got an opinion?
-Thanks

I'm not sure about the new generation halogen bulbs. Maybe they are cooler. What I do know is a few years back when I was working, I had installed halogen white driving lights on a classic Chevy. I came off a night shift and drove about half hour home with the street lights and driving lights on. It had rained during the night and my car picked up a lot of dirt off the road. As soon as I pulled into the drivway, I shut the car off, grabbed a hose and started to wash rinse off the car. When that cold stream of water hit the driving light it immediately cracked in half. That doesn't sound like the halogen bulb was operating to cool to me. Now, maybe they changed in the last few years, maybe I had a defective driving light, who knows.

Well, it depends. If you buy only the look a-like Xenon bulbs, the ones that cost about 50 bucks for a set, YES it will probably generate more heat as it requires more energy BUT Im thinking on installing the complete and original HID Xenong light, they only use 35 watts, much less than even halogen lights and they look like BMWs and Audi lights, HOWEVER Im not sure my wife is going to be very happy for a set HID kit for $400, and it only covers the low beam lights, for the fog lights you will have to buy another. I dont recommend using them for high beam lights as it takes some time to fully display and warm the gas.
