I just randomly called another tint shop here in philly, and they said "anywhere between 15 and 20% would normally match the rear." Pretty specific, huh? [:I]

I'll call my boy this weekend and see what he says. If I were you, I'd give the place who did it a hard time that they screwed you. If you asked them to match the rear, then (especially if it's their JOB!) they should be able to figure what would be too light or too dark, you know?

I would hazard to guess the place that tinted the fronts made a mistake with the tint they used, it may be that they had a box or a shelf with 15% marked when in fact they had a darker tint film.

Who cares what % they say they used, if you look at it and it's noticeably darker than the rear then that's what counts.

The earlier advice of a tint meter is sound, if your guy doesn't have that tool go to a shop that does, pay them if you have to, and take written proof of the results to your guy.

Get them to fix it the way you want, otherwise it will eat at you for ever.

Good luck.

Not with the 30 dollar lifetime warranty.
Actually I got the back tinted over the stock glass. In florida they will not pull you over so an illegal tint job unless you are already breaking the law.

I have had the fronts dark like that for about a month now. Without any problems (knock on wood). I figured if the tint guy him self has windows soo dark where you can't see in then why should I sacrifice my heat index and UV protection to get the front fixed and not have the back protected.

I got back in the PT yesterday, and with the AC on the 2nd knoch and the temp outside in the early 80's it was getting too cold for me. I had to eventually turn the AC down. That is the first time I have ever said the PT's AC was too cold. When you have 85 degree and 100% humidity it feels like 93 in the direct sun light.
