Default Carbon Fiber Hoods

I been looking around the net for PT Cruiser Carbon Fiber Hoods. I noticed that APC makes a Carbon Fiber Hood and wanted to know if anyone tried one of their hoods. I'm looking for a stock hood styling or ones with small hood scoops (more for show than function).
Also, if there is other manufactures, I would like some recomendations .

there is a listing that runs quite a bit of the time on ebay. just type in pt cruise ---that's right no "R". and the listing for the hood will show up----how much business are they missing because they misspelled pt cruiser. best of luck----a carbon fiber hood would be kinda bitchin'.

We cover pretty much all the hoods currently available in this thread: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...?TOPIC_ID=6438

I believe the fella redrum is referring to was dubbed the "Mystery" hood we're talking about in the last few posts. He offers it in fiberglass at a decent price or carbonfiber at a fairly steep increase, but that's par for the course ain't it.

I tend to shy away from APC products in general as the quality just isn't always there. But I haven't specifically heard any complaint about there hoods.

They do make "add-on" scoops you can put on the stock hood but they all pretty much look like add-ons. The cost to get them as seamless as a production aftermarket hood would likely have you spending more than if you'd just gone with a full hood replacement.

Good luck on your search, be sure to post shots once you make the leap.

Thanks for the info. I checked out ebay and saw a Vis Carbon Fiber OEM hood for sale. At the moment that is the only hood I see that fits my criteria. I'm still looking for hoods that have a small induction opening (like japanese cars have). Anyone have complaints about Vis btw?

I e-mailed the guy that has the OEM CF hood on eBay once and asked about one with an NACA or SRT opening and was told it would be mucho $$$ .

IS THIS THE HOOD YOU ARE LOOKING FOR???

Everything you want to know about the hood like I have (see pic above) etc...

http://ptenthusiasts.org/PTForums/sh...ad.php?t=42360

This is the FIRST carbon fiber hood made for the PT Cruiser... oh the price on the carbon is a little bit higher but these are GREAT quality... They are made to order not mass produced like APC crap...

I saw the dual scoop and it looks prety nice. However, I'm looking for single hood scoops that look like the Subaru WRX, Foresters, and SRT-4 Hoods. I'm generally looking for single small hood scoops that either cools down the engine bay or just for show . I'm rather picky about the hood atm, but appreciate the various responses I'm getting .

P.S. Just for those who are curious, I'm trying to make my 04 PTGT (Silver) look like a sporty GT.

Here's another thread: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...chTerms=carbon

VIS has a very good reputation with the import crowd. Here's the link to their site, but no photos yet: http://www.visracing.com/catalog/pro...products_id=79

With the extreme cost for shipping, this is going to be a rare bird. How many people do you think would put one on their PT? I would, but I think only a Group Buy with a centralized shipping drop point would make it within reach for me.

Who would spend money on the same thing that comes on the car, just made from CF ? It's an CF version of the OEM hood.

LD Tuning (over the pond) has this Evo-style hood that looks very cool to me:
