Default CHROME METAL BUMPER COVERS

I HAVE HAD SOMEBODY BUMP INTO MY 2002 PT CRUSIER AND MARED THE BLACK BUMPER. THE COST TO FIX THIS SMALL SCRATCH IS 724.00. THAT THIS PERSON WILL BE PAYING FOR. SINCE THIS REQUIRES A NEW COMPLETE FRONT END ALONG WITH PAINT I HAVE SEEN THE PT CRUSIER "WOODIE" METAL BUMPER COVERS ON PT-TUNING.COM FOR $700.00 + SHIPPING.

I AM JUST A LITTLE CONCERNED THAT WHEN I PUT ON THIS STEEL BUMPER COVER ON IT WILL SCRATCH/OR CUT INTO THE EXISTING PAINT/PLASTIC COWL WHERE THE OLD BLACK RUBBER BUMPER STOPS??? IS MUST LAY IN THIS EXISTING GROVE AROUND THE OLD BUMPER??? dOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY EXPERACNE WITH THIS OR HOW DID YOU SOLVE THIS POTENTIONAL PROBLEM

I bought a set of these and ended up sending them back. The front has a lip that hooks over the existing bumper and held on with screws at the bottom The rear just asttaches with screws. Will it scratch the OEM bumpers Yes. I scratched mine just test fitting them. The quality of the chrome is first rate. They are very thin and any kind of an impact will put a major dent in them. I ended up painting mine. The main reason I didn't like them was the area next to the tag the Plastic OEM bumper still shows.

I too had someone put a ding in my back bumper. This was a perfect excuse for the new chrome covers. I am 100% satistfied with the new look. They fit like a glove and are easy to install. You won't regret putting them on. Anything is better than that stock gray color.

The chrome bumper covers look fantastic, but they do dent easily.

I had stainless steel bumpers but I got tired of replacing them everytime a stone hit them,So I got the Chrome bumpers from PTwarehouse.com I like them but if you expect any real protection ,look under your cruiser and see what you have now. It's not much. If you get hit ,hope it's another cruiser ,maybe you'll get off with just a couple of thousand dollars in damage. The cruisers aren't made to be hit.All plastic. The chrome bumper is just for show. Don't expect any protection. none.

like cruiseing, meeting new people and sailing on the bay in my other cruiseer.

Thanks for this topic! I've been debating whether to save up for the chrome bumper covers, or the ones that have to be painted. Thought the painted ones were rather pricey after the cost of having them painted (to only have bugs chip the paint). Anyhow, for sure am going with the chrome ones now. Time to start the change jar again! LOL

Girls just wanna' have fun!
