Default Cheap mods?

So ... I just bought my 08 pt and was wondering ... What are some relatively cheap mods for my car(chrome, body/dash kits, etc.)?

We used to have a member called RatDaddy with plenty of ideas for "penny Mods" but he's no longer on the forum. Here's link that talks about him.

On mine I might have spent maybe $150 /Tail Lights /1/4 inch chrome/Chrome Door Panel covers/ and the Plasti-Dip cover on the front cover

Most of this is fairly inexpensive. For the vanity cover mod, you can usually pick up an engine vanity cover at a salvage yard pretty cheaply.

The "Handy" Air Intake Mod

The "Handy" Chrome Shifty Swap

The "Handy" Vanity Cover Mod

Handy's List of Parts for His PT Cruiser (So Far)

Also, I have a brand new Corsa read window wiper still in the package that I don't need. PM me if you want it. It's free plus $5 for shipping.

Some other great inexpensive mods include mats for the center console and visor plaques. You can see an example of the visor plaques in my 2005 GT in the far right photo below in my signature area. It's easily to find simple stuff for the 1st Gen 2001-2005 PT's. But there's plenty of stuff for the 2nd Gen PT's like yours too .

Chrome finish button caps for (Philips or Torx) fasteners; perhaps 35 cents each.

License plate bolt covers can also be used to make chrome AC vent knobs, but this requires modifying the OEM knobs.

Chrome AC/heater control rings from Race and Street (eBay?).

DIY chrome trim (1/8th inch wide) in the interior.

This eBay seller has some rare chrome items for PT Cruisers.

Do you have a pic of the door panels by chance?

VHT Nightshades on tail light and reverse lights for that blac-out look.

One's personal economics and definition of 'cheap' may vary.
Here are some on-line venders from whom ideas are free.

Race and Street

ptboutique.com

cruisermotorsports.com

ptwarehouse.com
