Default Tail Light Question

Can the tail light assemblies from a 2007 PT Cruiser be interchanged
with an earlier model without any modifications? Are they a direct interchange? Thanks for responses to this question.

Light sockets need to be slightly modified.

Yep.

I put the later style clear signal taillights on my 2001 Limited and my 2005 GT. The fix is the same to put the older style orange signal taillights on the 2nd Gen PT's too. On the turn signal lights only, there are prongs in the socket where it connects to the car's wiring harness. The prongs are in a different location on 2nd Gen PT's. I just took a Dremel tool and removed the prongs. That allows the socket on fit either Gen. This took less than five minutes to mod.

In the photo below, just remove the parts I've marked with red. It will be a mirror image of this on the 2nd Gen sockets:

Hi everyone. I've joined the club about a month ago, and in case I haven't introduced myself (it may very well be possible), here it is. I'm in Canada, I'm 45 and a father of 2 amazing little guys, just bought a 2004 black Touring Light Turbo Pt, and I'm super happy about it. Only problem is the more I search for aftermarket parts, the more I realize that I keep on getting the same response: "Does Not Fit your Pt Model". Is it really the case? Anyone else with a Light Turbo having the same problem? I was just looking for Smoked tail lights (as this from AndysAutoSport LT-PTC01G-APC Spec D Euro Tail Lights (Smoke) at Andy's Auto Sport )
. I get the message that it won't fit my car, but if I go on Carid.com, it'll say that it does fit my car. Being I'm not sure anymore, could anyone tell me what would be different in tail light fixtures between a Turbo and non-Turbo 2004 Pt? Same goes for head lights. I appreciate the help. Thnx.

All tail lights from any model PT from '01-'05 are identical - same for those on PTs '06-'10, and the only difference between the 2 is the yellow turn signal area on the '01-'05 became clear on the later ones and the connector is as Handy indicated.
No reason the lights in your link wouldn't fit yours.
Headlights got a different shape in '06 and late PTs, but headlights do not differ by model (only by year and US vs overseas).
