Josheypt,
Great start to your project. In doing the shaving, what type of welder did you use. I am to looking to shave my handles and would likt to do it at home in the garage but I've only welded with a little wire fed 110v welder in the past. would that be enough for welding in the plates 16g metal? I think you sould keep the rear latch handle just in case as a back up to entering your ride. antoher idea that would be trick is to suicide your gas lid and smooth it out so if you were to pop it would open backwards.
everyting else you've done looks like a good start. Kev

hey kev all i am using to do my shaving is a lincoln sp 125 mig welder which i sjust a 110 wire feed you don't even need to have a gas(argon/c02 mix) hook up to shave and don't use 16 gauge use 18 or 20 gauge cause the stock sheetmetal is 20 -22 gauge all my shaving was done suing 18 guage then used kitty hari to base the welds and then plastic filler over that to smooth out....alos ffor everyone's knowledge the little rack/shelf in the back with the air tank and compressors is about to be changed to a nicer looking one that is being built for the 2 viar 450's and a 7 gallon tank i was just given that wll have less lines runnign into the cab this time....
