Default Best Mudguards? Sound Deadening

G'day fellas,

Since I got my cruiser the passenger side mudguard has been cracked and hanging, and it bothers me it's integrated with the wheel well lining. So the question is:

Do I change the wheel well lining, or remove the bottom section and install an aftermarket mudguard? I'm interested in what you guys have used and what seems to deaden road noises. Cheers!

The front fender liners are a one-piece from front to back in the wheel well and the mud-flap part is part of the liner. But not all fender liners are created equal. The OEM style are a thicker plastic than after-markets. Not hard to replace, just held in with some screws and plastic push pins.

On an OEM style, the door for access to the headlight bulbs will just pop in and is held in place with some tabs.

The after-market liners are very thin and the access door is held in place with screws. In the below pic, around the access door, you can see 5 white screw inserts that hold the door in place. So if you see the screw inserts, this is the thin-type liner.

On the after-market type, the mud flap is very flimsy and will easily crumple, so I recommend staying with the OEM type.
