How to remove antenna bezel

Hello:
I bought a chrome plated plastic antenna bezel, but can not figure out how to remove the OEM one. I took off the antenna. Is the chrome piece that the antenna screws into a "nut"? You just unscrew it? It has three grooves in it. Do I just get a screw drive and they to loosen it?

I used the search feature but the only link I found that was helpful sent me to ptdoityourself.com and do not have a membership.

I used a screw driver and a hammer..( Tap lightly ) then once i had it loose enough i used needle nose pliers. Just go easy with the screw driver. I have done many this way and never had a problem.

Don't unscrew antenna. After the nut is unscrewed lift nut and bezel off antenna this way lower section doesn't fall into wheel well. Install bezel and nut while holding antenna tighten as needed.[8)]

If you open the door you can see the antanna lead.
I used needle nose plyers in the grooves of the nut to
get it off.Once that nut is removed the bazel comes off
easy.

It worked like a charm. Now I dont have the "waxy" plastic bezel anymore.

what works even better then a flat head or needle nose is using snap ring pliers works PERFECT! that is how i took mine off when i shaved my antenna
